iTap – Industrial Technology Assistant Program
National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) has played an important role in supporting Thai industry by providing both technical and financial assistance to promote the upgrading of technology, to promote the research and development of new products and processes, and to raise production standards for competitiveness and sustainable development. A private sector support program has delivered the Industrial Technology Assistance Program (iTAP) the Intelectual Property Services (IPS), the Company Directed Technology Development Program (CD); the NSTDA's Investment Center (NIC); the Research and Development Certification Committee (RDC) and the Technology Licensing office (TLO).

การบริหารราชการมาแต่ เดิมนั้นได้มีการประกาศตั้ง "กองอุตสาหกรรม" สังกัดอยู่กรมพาณิชย์กระทรวงเศรษฐการ ตามพระราชกฤษฎีกาการจัดวางระเบียบ การสำนักงานและกรมในกระทรวงเศรษฐการ (ฉบับที่ 13) ตราไว้ ณ วันที่ 25 มกราคม 2479 กองอุตสาหกรรมนี้จัดตั้งขึ้นโดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อทำหน้าที่ ดำเนินการตามนโยบายของรัฐบาลในการส่งเสริมสนับสนุนและค้นคว้า ควบคุม คุ้มครอง การอุตสาหกรรมต่างๆ ที่กระทำการอยู่แล้วและจะเกิดใหม่ให้ดำเนินการตามแบบแผนและวิธีการที่ดี ในขั้นแรกดำเนินการให้ความสำคัญและเน้นหนักในด้านการส่งเสริมอุตสาหกรรมใน ครอบครัว เช่นการอบรมส่งเสริมการทอผ้าแบบกี่กระตุก การทำร่ม เครื่องเล่น เครื่องจักสาน เครื่องปั้น เครื่องหนังและอุตสาหกรรมเบ็ดเตล็ดอื่นๆ ต่อมาในปี พ.ศ. 2480 ได้มีพระราชกฤษฎีกาแบ่งส่วนราชการสำนักงานและกรมในกระทรวงเศรษฐการ (ฉบับที่ 7) ตราไว้ ณ วันที่ 1 เมษายน 2481 และให้ปฏิบัติหน้าที่ทั้งด้านด้านควบคุมโรงงานและส่งเสริมการเผยแพร่กิจกรรม อุตสาหกรรม พร้อมทั้งบริหารร้านจำหน่ายสินค้าที่ผลิตได้ในประเทศชื่อ "ร้านไทยอุตสาหกรรม"
